Faithful God

The Faithfulness of God

What God’s faithfulness is NOT:

God being faithful means that He answers every prayer that I pray.

God has promised to give us everything we want or desire.

God exercises degrees of faithfulness because I am faithful to him.

God is faithful because I was told that in Sunday school, and we sing the songs.

Things are going well for you and me, so God’s faithfulness must have kicked in.

He is providing, so God is faithful and good.

I. God’s Faithfulness is His
God’s character is , and He will do what He says.

Psalm 33:4 – “For the word of the Lord is upright, and all His work is done in faithfulness.”

Titus 1:2 – “In the hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began.”

Hebrews 6:18 – “So that by two unchangeable things, in which God can’t lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.”

2 Peter 3:9 – “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”

II. God’s Faithfulness is and
God’s faithfulness is not or on our faithfulness.

Numbers 23:19 – “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?”

2 Timothy 2:13 – “If we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.” God’s faithfulness is intrinsic to His nature.

Psalm 119:90 – “Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.”

Lamentations 3:22-23 – “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
