Fruit of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22-26
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is
love – affection, benevolence, charity
Romans 5:8 KJV – 8 But God commendeth his love[G26] toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

joy – cheerfulness, calm delight, gladness
Luke 24:52 CSB – 52 After worshiping him, they returned to Jerusalem with great joy.

Peace – harmonious relationships between men to bind together
Ephesians 2:13-14 CSB – 13 But now in Christ Jesus, you who were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who made both groups one and tore down the dividing wall of hostility.

Longsuffering – patience over time.
1 Timothy 1:15-16 NLT – 15 This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”–and I am the worst of them all. 16 But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.

Gentleness – the sense of what is upright, righteous, kind, gracious
Romans 2:3-4 CSB – 3 Do you think — anyone of you who judges those who do such things yet do the same — that you will escape God’s judgment? 4 Or do you despise the riches of his kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

Goodness – a quality of being morally good. Uprightness of heart and life, goodness, kindness
Romans 15:14 NLT – 14 I am fully convinced, my dear brothers and sisters, that you are full of goodness. You know these things so well you can teach each other all about them.

Faithfulness – assurance or guarantee of a persons character
Acts 17:30-31 CSB – 30 “Therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God now commands all people everywhere to repent, 31 “because he has set a day when he is going to judge the world in righteousness by the man he has appointed. He has provided proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”

Meekness – denotes “a gentle, mild, meek disposition.”
Matthew 11:28-30 CSB – 28 “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
