The Origin of Paul’s Gospel
NO HUMAN OR NEEDED (Gal 1:11-12)
11 Dear brothers and sisters, I want you to understand that the gospel message I preach is not based on mere human reasoning. 12 I received my message from no human source, and no one taught me. Instead, I received it by direct revelation from Jesus Christ.
9 I was chosen to explain to everyone this mysterious plan that God, the Creator of all things, had kept secret from the beginning. Ephesians 3:9 NLT

YOU WHO I WAS (Gal 1:13-14)
13 You know what I was like when I followed the Jewish religion–how I violently persecuted God’s church. I did my best to destroy it. 14 I was far ahead of my fellow Jews in my zeal for the traditions of my ancestors.
1 Saul was one of the witnesses, and he agreed completely with the killing of Stephen. A great wave of persecution began that day, sweeping over the church in Jerusalem, and all the believers except the apostles were scattered through the regions of Judea and Samaria. … 3 But Saul was going everywhere to destroy the church. He went from house to house, dragging out both men and women to throw them into prison. Acts 8:1, 3 NLT

HOW DID THIS ? (Gal 1:15-16)
15 But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace. Then it pleased him 16 to reveal his Son to me so that I would proclaim the Good News about Jesus to the Gentiles. When this happened, I did not rush out to consult with any human being.
5 This was not made known to people in other generations as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit: 6 The Gentiles are coheirs, members of the same body, and partners in the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel. Ephesians 3:5-6 CSB

TIME FOR (Gal 1:17-21)
17a. Nor did I go up to Jerusalem to consult with those who were apostles before I was. 17b. Instead, I went away into Arabia (900 Miles), and later I returned to the city of Damascus (135 Miles). 18 Then, three years later, I went to Jerusalem to get to know Peter and stayed with him for fifteen days. 19 The only other apostle I met at that time was James, the Lord’s brother. 20 I declare before God that what I am writing to you is not a lie. 21 After that visit, I went north into the provinces of Syria and Cilicia. (560 Miles).

IT’S NOW (Gal 1:22-24)
22 And still, the Christians in the churches in Judea didn’t know me personally. 23 All they knew was that people were saying, “The one who used to persecute us is now preaching the very faith he tried to destroy!” 24 And they praised God because of me.
1 Timothy 1:16 CSB – 16 But I received mercy for this reason, so that in me, the worst of them, Christ Jesus might demonstrate his extraordinary patience as an example to those who would believe in him for eternal life.

APPLICATIONS
- When God calls you, neither your inability nor ability can stop what He wants to do in you
- Sometimes, when He removes you from family, friends, and home, He has something better for you.
- When it seems like all has been taken from you and you have been taken away from all, He then uses you to glorify Himself.
