(1) Now about the collection for the saints: Do the same as I instructed the Galatian churches.
(2) On the first day of the week, each of you is to set something aside and save in keeping with how he is prospering so that no collections will need to be made when I come.”
Practical Principles Given to the Churches
1. “On the first day of the week” = Giving should be
“(7) We assembled to break bread on the first day of the week. Paul spoke to them, and since he was about to depart the next day, he kept on talking until midnight.” – Acts 20:7

2. “Each of you” = Giving should be
(6) The point is this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously. (7) Each person should do as he has decided in his heart — not reluctantly or out of compulsion since God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:6-7

4. “How he is prospering” – Giving should be
“(11) Now also finish the task, so that just as there was an eager desire, there may also be a completion, according to what you have. (12) For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.” – 2 Corinthians 8:11-12

Conclusion
We Need a MINDSET change
**It’s not about how much money you give to the church, missions, charity, etc.; it’s about how much of God’s money you should actually keep**
**God gives me money in the first place. I’m not a container; I’m a conduit.
